This event celebrated the enduring legacy of Saint Óscar Arnulfo Romero and marked Canada’s Refugee Rights Month, highlighting the shared struggles, resilience, and solidarity of our communities.
This year’s festival featured a vibrant program that included updates on the Salvadoran Diaspora Book, clips from our Virtual Museum, and a cultural segment showcasing performances by talented local artists. We were also honoured to welcome representatives from LIUNA, whose participation created a valuable space for sharing our initiatives, building new partnerships, and recognizing the contributions of our dedicated volunteers and grassroots organizations.
The event drew a full house, offering not only inspiration but also a joyful reunion space where some participants reconnected with friends and family members they had not seen in years.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors — Western University, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and LIUNA Local 183. A special thank-you goes out to our tireless volunteers and to the public, who once again demonstrated their solidarity and support. We invite you to visit our photo gallery to relive some of these memorable moments.
